It looks like unbeaten incredibly middleweight Andre Ward (28-0, 15 KOs) and his promoters at Roc Nation Sports will need to browse for another challenger for him to fight on the undercard of the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez vs. Miguel Cotto fight card on November 21st on HBO PPV.
The competitor that Ward was supposed to be combating on the Cott-Canelo card, # 6 WBO 168lb contender Rohan Murdock (18-1, 14 KOs), has been declined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) for some reason. According to the West Australian Sport, the NSAC won’t agree to sanction the Ward-Murdock fight.
Murdock, 23, is from Australia, and this is a fight that supposedly would have provided him a payday of somewhere in the neighborhood of $250,000 to $300,000, according to the West Australian. That’s sort of hard to believe provided how unfamiliar Murdock is. I would see something a lot less than this for a little known individual. Never the less, it looks like the Ward-Murdock fight is a no go for some factor.
