A Look Into The Life Of Henry Armstrong (Real Name Henry Jackson)

Henry Jackson Jr. (December 12, 1912, Columbus, Mississippi– October 22, 1988, Los Angeles, California) was an American professional boxer and a world boxing champion who battled under the name Henry Armstrong. He is considereded among the best competitors of all time by many boxing critics and fellow specialists.

Henry Jr. was a fighter who not just belonged to the special group of competitors that have actually won boxing champions in 3 or more various departments (at a time when there were only 8 widely acknowledged World Titles), but also has the distinction of being the only boxer to hold 3 world champions at the same time, holding the featherweight, lightweight, and welterweight world titles for a brief period in 1938. Armstrong defended his welterweight title nineteen times.
